The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has permitted viewing of the Taj Mahal at night under a full moon since 2004. This night excursion is permitted during the full moon and the five evenings immediately preceding and following it each month. Except during the holy month of Ramzan and every Friday. On a full moon, the Taj Mahal is so captivating and dazzling that you won’t even realize how long the night has been. The Taj Mahal shines like a jewel in the moonlight sky.
An evening tour of the Taj Mahal You can visit Sikandra and the Pearl Mosque in the Agra Fort during the day, browse at the Meena Bazaar’s craft shops and jewelers, and meander through the royal palaces and tombs of Fatehpur Sikri. Watch the Taj Mahal, which is made of white marble, sparkle in the moonlight at night and be amazed by the magnificent sight.

Tour Itinerary

There are four hours available for Taj Mahal Night Viewing, from 8:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. only on evenings with a full moon. Between 8:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m., eight batches of 50 tourists, totaling 400 overall, circulated. Tourists are required to be at Shilpgram (the Eastern Gate Taj Mahal Parking) 30 minutes prior to the time specified on their tickets for security checks. From there, they will be transported by battery van in groups of 50 people at a time to the destination and back.
Only one day's notice in advance is allowed for this visit, according to the ASI Agra office. This ticket cannot be obtained on the same day. Tickets are non-transferable and include the names of the guests on them. During the holy month of Ramadan, moonlight visits are not permitted. Inside the Taj Mahal, visitors are only permitted to spend a maximum of 30 minutes, and they are only permitted to visit the main platform.
